Meaningful, timeless and elegant

Jewelry has mostly been used for personal decoration, but children have worn jewelry for many other reasons. In some countries was to show status and wealth, in others was because of their superstitious beliefs. Some children would have jewelry with bells so parents would know if they were out of their safe sight.  For centuries these jewelries were made out of shells, bits of wood, animal teeth, leather, feathers, and pebbles. Many infants wore these pieces as well as older children.

Before leaving the hospital in Brazil right after birth, doctors would ask parents if they wanted to pierce their little girls’ ears. Majority of parents would do it. My mom brought to the hospital a pair of 18k gold stud earrings and had them pierce my ears before leaving. When I had Annalee I wanted to pierce her ears right after birth, but they didn’t offer it at the hospital. Annalee’s pediatrician advised us to wait till she was around 3-5 months old. A couple of days ago, we were in the elevator in our building and some lady said ‘’oh he is so cute’’. I mean she had a black and white outfit, but truly I couldn’t get offended because she didn’t know if it was a little boy or a little girl.

There are so many different jewelries for children, gold, silver, pearl and diamond!!! I do prefer to use either gold or silver because since infants’ skin is very sensitive it can cause an allergy breakout. Is there anything cuter than a baby wearing a pair of earrings or a bracelet?!? Today, the most common reason for giving jewelry to a baby or child is giving a meaningful gift that will last a lifetime. Personalized infant bracelets are a meaningful and unique baby shower, christening, first communion, bar mitzvah or birthday gift.

A Timeless Style

Crochet is a process of creating fabric from yarn, thread or other material strands using a crochet hook. It was very popular in the 19th century in Arabia, South America, China and Europe. My grandmother Marisa, my dad’s mother was one of the best knitter’s that I have ever met. She had a small home business where all types of people would place orders not just for babies, but for grownups too. She would always make shoes, sandals, dresses and even a bikini for me. I just loved how detailed and beautiful everything she did was. I sure miss my grandmother’s crochet.

Crocheted items are good to use in every season, especially the winter (it keeps those little toes warm)! Back in the days you would only find basic crochet baby items, but now there are tons of cute crochet goodies for babies.

I know that it is harder to find clothes, shoes and other things for baby boys but you would be surprised of how cute these crochet items are. They are perfect as Baby Shower gifts!
Some people may find them cheesy but I find them so stylish! Newborns and infants can have a difficult time keeping their shoes on but with crochet booties they stay longer and sometimes till you take them off. Their fatty little feet just look too adorable in them!

Stroller, car seat, bassinet? Which one to choose!?!

Sometimes it seems too difficult when it comes to choosing a stroller, car seat and bassinet for our baby. I've searched different brands, read many reviews, went to different baby department stores to try them out but when my eyes hit the Peg Perego Switch Four Modular System, the search was over.

That was it for me, I found the stroller of my dreams! I fell in love with Peg Perego! A stroller play a very important part on a baby's life. First of all it needs to have the best safety reviews and second looks incredible. Let's be honest, the are some pretty ugly strollers out there! LoL!!! When we picked the stroller, I wanted a color and design that would go perfectly for a little girl or a little boy, that was because we do plan to have a second child. So if you are going to spend the money choose wisely.

Annalee loves her Peg Perego! She was diagnosed with Acid Reflux before leaving the hospital, so her NICU doctor recommended that she would have to sleep in her tummy and elevated. We were so fortunate because her bassinet is adjustable, which means that she would sleep elevated. She has matching stroller, car seat, diaper bag and bassinet. We choose the Pois Grey and it looks so chic!

We were so blessed because we have friends and family that gifted us with the entire Switch Four Modular System

My husband and I attend a church that the sound system is very loud, and because we are both leaders we usually have to sit in the front rows which are right next to the speakers. During my pregnancy I was reading how a baby can hear sounds in the belly and I thought it was awesome, but I was worried about when the baby was going to be sitting in the front row with us. Babies have very sensitive hearing and it can be damaged with any type of loud noise. So moms, be careful because even when you go to the movies it affects your baby's hearing.

We found a great solution they are called Em's 4 Bubs Baby Earmuffs which protect their sensitive ears from getting damaged.

  • Keep things out of her ears, including cotton swabs.
  • Help her stay as healthy as possible – to prevent ear infections, for example.
  • Protect her from loud, prolonged noises. (A good rule of thumb is that the noise level should be low enough that you're comfortable talking over it.)
To help your baby's development, look for ways to expose her to a variety of sounds. Here are some things you might do in the course of your day together:
  • Explore music. Choose perennial children's favorites such as Raffi, or pop in your own favorite CD, whether it's The Beatles or Russian opera. Sing to her. Point out the rhythm of a ticking clock and the sound of the wind chimes.
  • Talk and read to your child, no matter how young she is. Listening to your voice helps your child develop an ear for the cadence of language. In fact, varying the pitch of your voice, using accents, singing, and vocalizing makes the aural connection between you and your baby that much more stimulating. Plus, the more you talk and read to her, the more sounds and words she learns as she gets ready to talk.
